Mate Zsiga

Mate was born in Deggendorf, Germany, but is a Hungarian citizen based in Budapest. He’s been coaching tennis since 2015 after graduating from Baylor University with an undergraduate degree in communications and a graduate degree in Sports Pedagogy (education).

Mate was a Top10 ITF player, ranked as high as #7 in the world. He competed at the French Open, Wimbledon, US Open, and represented Hungary at the Youth Olympic Games in 2010. He was a member of the two Hungarian teams winning the European Continent Championship, first ever to do so for his country.

After his junior tennis career, Mate committed to play for Baylor University in Waco, TX. As a Baylor Bear, he won four Big12 Conference titles, reached the Final Four of the NCAA National Championship, and earned Singles All-American status.

Mate is a USPTA Professional, USTA High Performance and ITPA Tennis certified coach.
